TMD Orthotic (Splints)

A custom oral appliance to relieve jaw pain, headaches, and discomfort caused by TMD.

TMD Orthotic (Splints)

TMD (temporomandibular joint disorder) refers to pain and dysfunction in the jaw joint and surrounding muscles. Symptoms can include jaw pain or soreness, clicking or popping sounds when opening or closing the mouth, headaches, earaches, and difficulty chewing.

An orthotic splint is a custom-made removable appliance worn over the teeth to help reduce strain on the jaw joint and muscles. It works by repositioning the jaw into a more comfortable alignment, relieving pressure and allowing the joint to heal.

Our doctors will evaluate your jaw, bite, and symptoms to determine whether an orthotic is the right approach for your needs.
