My First Visit
When you arrive at our office, you will be greeted by one of our receptionists and asked to complete some paperwork. You should arrive at the office approximately 10-15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.
Bring the completed forms that were mailed to you or that you downloaded.
Personal and medical history: Please bring with you the name and telephone number of your medical doctor or clinic. If you have had recent surgery, we will also need to know the name and telephone number of your surgeon. Also, bring a list of any prescription or over the counter medication that you may be taken.
Insurance Information: Your insurance card and, if available, your benefit book.
After completing the necessary paperwork, you will be taken to the treatment room by the doctor’s dental assistant. She will make you comfortable and ask a few preliminary questions.
The doctor will then come in, introduce him/herself, and spend a few minutes reviewing your medical history and listening to your wants and concerns related to your dental treatment. The doctor will do a comprehensive medical history as it relates to your dental needs.
The dental assistant will take the necessary x-rays and the doctor will then start the comprehensive dental examination including:
- Hard and soft tissue cancer screening
- TMJ evaluation
- Periodontal evaluation
- Diagnose the orthopan x-ray for fractures, abnormalities or disease
- Diagnose the remaining x-rays, after visual inspection, for caries (decay)
- Propose a treatment plan that is individualized to your dental needs.
After all your questions have been answered, the dental assistant will escort you back to the reception desk where you will meet with the financial manager. With the financial manager, you will receive an estimate of your dental treatment, decide if anything needs to be preauthorized to your insurance company, and settle on a payment option.
It is our desire to provide you with the best dentistry available while providing you with exceptional service.
